The brief.
Setu was processing seven thousand loan applications a month with twenty-two ops analysts manually reconciling KYC, bank statements, and credit bureau pulls. Errors were rare but expensive; throughput was capped not by demand but by humans. Hiring more analysts was the path the founders refused.
02 / Approach
The work.
A pair of automated workflows — KYC normalisation and statement reconciliation — built on the team's existing decision trees, reviewed by a human only at the edges. We shipped an ops dashboard to make the AI auditable. Nothing decided autonomously; everything decided faster, with a clearer paper trail than the manual flow it replaced.
